New hospitals in the Algarve will attract professionals

The Regional Health Administration of the Algarve believes she can attract more professionals to the National Health Service with the opening of the Central Hospital of Faro, in the course of Medicine at the University of Algarve and the construction of ten new private hospitals.

"Over the next ten years, there will be a need to renew the clinical staff, since most doctors have ages above 50 years," said John Lawrence, president of ARS of the Algarve, referring to the fact that the region has only 4.3 nurses per thousand inhabitants, compared with an average of 5.1 in the rest of the country

"Initially there may be some difficulty to hire professionals, but, being a regular supply of labor, will eventually be a decoy. Furthermore, with the opening of the Faculty of Medicine," he added.
